Sir Karl William Pamp Jenkins, CBE (b. February 17, 1944) is a Welsh multi-instrumentalist and composer. His Requiem is among his most famous sacred music compositions. Jenkins was educated in music at Cardiff University and the Royal Academy of Music: of the latter, he is a fellow and an Associate. His Benedictus is from The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace. The text is from the Roman Mass. Benedictus qui venit in nomine Domini (Blessed is He who cometh in the Name of the Lord).
